West Ham United and England international midfielder Declan Rice says the Merseyside Reds star Fabinho is the best defensive midfielder in the world.
Via the Daily Star, when Englishman was asked who he thought was the best player in the world in his his position, he quickly replied: “Fabinho.”
He went on to explain his choice, adding: “He’s adapted to the Premier League really quickly. He sees a pass, reads the game well. I’ve got to say him.”
Since arriving from Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco for around £39 million, the gangly midfielder has been in stunning form for Jurgen Klopp’s side. It took him a little while to adapt to the Premier League, however, since then he has excelled every week.
There have some stunning performances from him, however, they seem to go a little unnoticed sometimes because he is so consistent.
Brazil international midfielder is likely to play against Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday while he will be crucial, too, against Leicester City in the English top-tier on Saturday afternoon
Meanwhile, Declan Rice himself has been linked with a switch to top Premier League team with the Red Devils and Tottenham Hotspur are both desperate to lure talented Englishman away from the London Stadium.
