Arsenal transfer target Denis Suarez has tuned down the chance to join West Ham after the Hammers submitted a £20 million offer for his signature.
The Barcelona ace is wanted by Arsenal and is understood to be edging closer to sealing a loan move to Emirates Stadium. Unai Emery wants a reunion with his former pupil and thinks Denis Suarez can add extra quality to his squad.
But the Sun claims West Ham have failed in a bid to hijack Arsenal’s deal for the midfielder and Barcelona want the Gunners to commit to a £20 million fee in January or in the summer, but the north London club are struggling to come up with the cash this month. The Hammers offered to pay the asking price upfront, but Spaniard has told the club he only wants to move to Arsenal.
The 25-year-old has even told the Catalan giants he will stay at the club for the remainder of the season if he is denied a switch to Arsenal.
Denis Suarez has been on the fringes of Barcelona’s squad for most of the season and was dropped from the matchday squad that took on Getafe at the weekend.
