Arsenal are reportedly targeting a £50 million double swoop for untested duo Yacine Brahimi and Max Meyer
Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have been in a contract standoff with the Gunners for several months now, with little development over a renewal.
While both superstars of them have indeed combined to become a formidable duo in the final third for the Emirates club, their continued reluctance to sign a new deal is increasingly making the club officials uneasy.
And now the Sun claims Arsene Wenger’s side are preparing for life without contract rebels by plotting a £50 million double summer swoop for Schalke midfielder Max Meyer and Porto winger Yacine Brahimi.
The Algerian international can be deployed in multiple attacking positions but he usually starts on the left-hand side of the attack. As per the Sun, Arsenal have moved in and asked the Primeira Liga side about signing the versatile frontman. The 27-year-old has so far featured in 19 league games for the Portuguese outfit in the current campaign, bagged 5 goals and provided 4 assists.
The Germany youth international, Meyer is believed to be valued at just over £10 million after refusing to sign a new deal at the club. It’s believed that Francis Cagigao watched the 21-year-old playmaker last week and has returned with a glowing report. He has made 26 Bundesliga appearances this season and has had a hand in seven goals.
