Rumoured Manchester United and Chelsea target Leonardo Bonucci has reportedly handed in a transfer request at Serie A giants AC Milan.
Bonucci only made the switch to San Siro a seven-year stay at Italian champions Juventus last summer, however, the club’s financial issues and expulsion from European competition have led Italian centre-back to consider exit from AC Milan.
The Daily Express suggested that the 31-year-old has asked Italian giants to let him leave the team during the current transfer window, with the Premier League teams are believed ot be interested in his services.
The Red Devils are in the market for a new defender and have been strongly linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur centre-backToby Alderweireld, although the lack of progress in negotiations could force Jose Mourinho to look elsewhere to strengthen his defensive area.
Jose Mourinho is believed to be a long-term admirer of Bonucci, however, United will face stiff competition from Chelsea.
New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri plans to build a squad that will be capable to compete for Premier League title next season and Bonucci has been one of the names in his shortlist this summer.
