Tottenham fear that their direct Premier League rivals Liverpool will hijack their move for Adrien Rabiot after Mauricio Pochetino’s side narrowly missed out on securing the services of the midfielder during the January transfer window according to the reports.
France international midfielder was on the brink of a switch to the Spurs from PSG before his father died and his transfer has been scheduled for the summer.
The Merseyside Red and the Gunners have been rumoured with Rabiot, while Man United and Barcelona also eyeing move for his signature.
The Mirror reported that Mauricio Pochettino’s side believes they are in danger of losing Frenchman to either Liverpool or La Liga giants Barcelona during the summer transfer window, despite coming on the brink to signing him in a £20million deal earlier last month.
The 23-year-old midfielder is thought to favour a move to Anfield over White Hart Lane, and could be convinced to reject a move to the Spurs in order to work with Jurgen Klopp.
PSG are furious to have to lose Frenchman on a free transfer this summer as the 23-year-old current deal set to expire after the end of the 2018/19 season.
Rabiot has even been suspended by PSG for refusing to extend his stay at Parc de Princes.
Tottenham sees Rabiot as an ideal replacement for Dembele. The North London club have not added any new face to their team in the last two transfer windows and expected a battle for Rabiot after the season ends.
