Liverpool and Arsenal’s transfer target Jean Michael Seri has ruled out January exit from Nice.
Ivory Coast international midfielder who has a £36million release clause in his current deal at Nice has been on the verge this summer to make a switch to Barcelona. However, the deal has been collapsed on the last minute of the transfer window.
‘I want to be optimistic and think that there are still options,’ Seri told Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo in August.
‘Let the two clubs talk quietly again and come to an agreement. We are not talking about any club, where you are going to sign for money.
‘I want to sign for a big European clubs, like Juventus, PSG, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool.
‘For example, Roma, has made several offers. I have spoken many times with Monchi and this transfer has not occurred either because of economic reasons.’
After failing to secure a move to top European club Seri has confirmed that he will wait until next summer and not force an exit from Nice during the January transfer window.
‘I will not be leaving in the January transfer window,’ he said. ‘That is clear.’
The news will come as a huge blow for both Arsenal and Liverpool as they both were keen on to lure African midfielder to Premier League in January.
