Nigeria star Moses Simon has confirmed that Premier League giants, Liverpool are interested in signing him for the next season.
Simon has found back of the net 21 times in 136 gaems for Belgian outfits Gent since joining the club back in 2015 however, the 22-year-old winger has been strongly linked with an Anfield switch in the recent months.
The Merseyside Reds have been keeping tabs on Simon for some time and he has been on the shortlist of Jurgen Klopp ahead of the 2018/19 season.
It’s believed the £10million-rated African forward is being lined up by the Reds to provide competition for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
Asked about the rumours, Simon told AOI Football: ‘Well, for now, I’m still a player of KAA Gent; obviously, there was interest from Liverpool but nothing is concrete for now.
‘I’m currently in Holland with the rest of the squad and we are getting ready for the new season. ‘We have a game against PAOK in two days; hopefully, I might play in that one.’
The Merseyside Reds have already landed Naby Keita and Fabinho this summer and former Stoke City forward Xherdan Shaqiri has also joined the team last night after completing medical at Melwood.
