According to a recent report in Don Balon, Real Madrid are prepared to pay €210 million to bring Salah to Madrid as the club look to build a team capable of dominating Ernesto Valverde’s Barcelona.
They state that Mohamed only stayed at Liverpool this campaign because of their Champions League glory, and he’d be ready to force a transfer if they do not manage to repeat that or win the PL this season.
It seems Los Blancos want to make at least one top-quality signing next year. The report claims other targets are Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane, but neither of those acquisitions look possible.
As a result, the Egyptian star looks like being the main target for the Spanish club next summer.
If the transfer was to happen it could have some very interesting knock on effects for other players and clubs.
If Mbappe was to stay at the Parisians then surely that would increase Blaugrana’s chances of securing a return to La Liga for Neymar.
You also have to feel Mohamed’s signing would surely signal the end of Wales international Gareth Bale’s time in the capital.
It’s unlikely he’d be included in the deal and move to the Reds, he just does not come across as the type of signing manager Jurgen Klopp would usually make.
There are two reasons to be positive for Reds fans despite this speculation. Firstly, the Galacticos will likely be linked with a move for every great player across the continent over the next year.
Secondly, the Anfield outfit have made a great start to this campaign, so winning the Premier League does not seem like an unrealistic aspiration.
