Liverpool have finalised the signing of Colombian defender Anderson Arroyo from Fortaleza CEIF, according to the reports.
The 18-year-old defender had previously undergone a trial with the Merseyside Reds, who continued to keep a close eye on his progress before agreeing on a deal in January.
Arroyo has now finalised his move to Liverpool, although the left-back will spend the next 18 months on loan to Segunda Division club Mallorca.
“Liverpool FC can now confirm the completion of the signing of defender Anderson Arroyo, who has immediately moved to Real Mallorca on an 18-month loan deal,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“Arroyo has departed for a temporary spell in Spain, where he will spend the remainder of this campaign and the whole of the next with Segunda B leaders Mallorca.”
Arroyo is a Colombia Under-20 international and has played 22 games for his former club Fortaleza this campaign.
Meanwhile, Liverpool continues to linked with the signing of Serie A giants Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij who has been in his final year at Stadio Olimpico and expected to leave the club as a free agent in the summer.
