Chelsea have reportedly offered Serie A giants, Napoli, the chance to secure the services of striker Michy Batshuayi on a season-long loan deal, that will include the option to make his move permanent at Stadio Olimpico.
The Belgian international forward has not featured in any of the Blues’ opening three Premier League fixtures so far, with Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud being Frank Lampard’s favoured players upfront.
The 25-year-old forward recently insisted that he was keen to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge squad this season, however, according to journalist Dario Sarnataro, who spoke to Italian radio station Radio Marte, the striker will be offered to the Italian giants a loan deal.
The reporter added that the Blues will pay a portion of the player’s wages as part of the contract, which will include the chance for Italian giants to make the move permanent after the summer ends.
Both sides learned who they will face in the group stages of the Champions League on Thursday, with the Blues in Group H along with Dutch giants Ajax that impressed the world with their performance last campaign, Lille and Valencia, while Batshuayis possible team this season, Napoli facing Liverpool, Red Bull Salzburg and Genk in Group E.
It is unlikely to see Belgian forward to feature in the Frank Lampard’s plans this season.
