Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has declared his admiration for Manchester United record-signing Paul Pogba and insisted that the door is open for Frenchman to make the switch to Santiago Bernabeu.
Pogba was heavily linked with a switch to Real Madrid throughout the summer transfer window with Zinedine Zidane making him one of the top targets.
At one point in the summer, it appeared likely that France international playmaker would swap Manchester for the Los Blancos after his agent Mino Raiola revealed that he was ‘in talks with the La Liga giants.
However, the Red Devils stood firm amid interest in their star midfielder after setting his price tag at £150m and he has started in each of their four Premier League matches so far this season.
Spanish giants are expected to test the Red Devils resolve again when the transfer window will be re-opened next summer, though, and their club skipper Sergio Ramos seemingly would welcome Frenchman with open arms at the Santiago Bernabeu.
‘I think Real Madrid always has the door open for good players such as him,’ he told the Daily Express.
‘For me, Pogba is one of the great players. He is different and he has shown his value at Juventus and now Manchester United.
‘I think he brings balance to a team. He has a great offensive influence and he has this amazing physique.’
Shortly after Frenchman’s agent went public with his comments regarding his future, the World Cup-winning midfielder admitted that he was keen to take a new challenge in his career.
‘After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well… I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else,’ he said back in July.
