Premier League giants Liverpool have reportedly identified Real Sociedad centre-back, Diego Llorente, as a possible replacement for Dejan Lovren should the Croatia international defender depart from the club this summer.
The Reds are believed to be open to offers for Lovren, who has fallen down the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp with Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez all now above him.
The Merseyside Reds are expected to only dip into the transfer market should a player depart from the club ahead of the next season and, with AS Roma reportedly in talks with Lovren, they are planning potential defender targets.
Spanish outlet La Razon reports that Llorente is on their wish list, having impressed at Real Sociedad since making the switch to the club from Real Madrid after three years.
Llorente’s form has seen him earn five Spain caps, while he has managed to found back of the net seven times in 77 first-team games for La Liga outfits.
The 26-year-old defender has a release clause at £40m, although the Merseyside Reds would hope to be in talks that down as they look to limit spending in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
