Newcastle United have reportedly joined Chelsea in the transfer race to secure services of Argentine forward Nicolo Zaniolo.
According to a report from Chronicle Live, Rafa Benitez has frequently sent scouts to keep close tabs on 19-year-old AS Roma star ahead of a potential move in the summer.
The Blues are unable to secure service anyone in the upcoming two windows following the transfer ban from FIFA, however, had been rumoured with a move to secure services of the player recently.
The report claims that the Los Blancos and Serie A champions Juventus are both in the transfer race to secure services of Zaniolo during the summer. However, Chelsea aren’t the only Premier League team impressed with his fine form and Newcastle have joined the race.
Rafa Benitez is believed to be a huge fan of Zaniolo’s abilities, however, as per Chronicle Live’s report, is not yet aware of how much the St James Park side will be able to spend this summer.
Zaniolo has found back of the net five times in all competitions for AS Roma this season and has shone in an underwhelming campaign for the Italian giants.
