Crystal Palace are incredible to welcome Michy Batshuayi back to Selhurst Park in the winter transfer window with The Sun claiming that Chelsea have no plan of parting with the 26-year-old.
It is already three years over since the West London club paid £33 million to join the former Marseille forward though Batshuayi is still no closer to proving himself as the first-choice centre-forward at Stamford Bridge.
Belgian international has played just 45 minutes of PL football since Chelsea boss took over and stories had suggested that Batshuayi could be on his move back to Palace in January, having netted six goals in 11 starts for the Eagles during a loan term in the second half of last season.
The Mirror claimed that Roy Hodgson’s side, who have netted just eight times in nine matches in 2018/19, were eyeing a permanent contract which could cost £22 million.
But latest claims from The Sun recommend that Palace are barking up the wrong tree with Lampard declining to let Batshuayi go as long as Chelsea are held under a transfer ban. For all his lack of playing minutes, the former Valencia and Dortmund loanee is still the club’s second-choice forward behind only Tammy Abraham.
With Chelsea trying to compete both in the Champions League and the Premier League, Batshuayi will get his opportunities this season. Patience is a virtue.
