AS Roma have officially announced the signing of Steven N’Zonzi on a four-year contract, who was a long-term target for Arsenal, in a €30 million deal.
The Serie A giants have agreed a deal worth up to €30 million with Sevilla for the World Cup winner, who was also strongly linked with a move to Emirates this summer.
Steven N’Zonzi has been one of the hottest properties this summer, with the destroyer reportedly willing to embark on a new challenge after three fruitful years with La Liga giants. Several big-name clubs have been linked with the France international this summer, with the Gunners the most heavily linked suitor in his pursuit.
The north London outfit were one of the busiest English clubs this summer, with the new manager looking to imprint his ideology at the club quickly. The Midfield was unsurprisingly a priority area for the Arsenal boss, especially after Jack Wilshere was deemed surplus to requirements.
Upon the departure of No.10, the main aim was seeming to add steel to midfield, which has duly been done by the arrivals of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira. But, in Steven N’Zonzi, Emery could have been looking at a familiar figure who could have eased the transition period.
