Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly identified Chelsea as his favoured destination in the Premier League should he leave La Liga at the end of the current campaign..
Speculation continues to rage over the future of Portugal international forward, who is believed to be unhappy in Madrid due to his clubs struggles on the field this campaign as well as matters off the pitch.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was accused of tax evasion by Spanish authorities back in 2017 and reportedly asked to leave the Los Blancos in the summer, with the Red Devils heavily linked with re-signing their former player.
Ronaldo spent six years at Old Trafford before joining the Spanish giants and would reunite with an ex-Madrid boss and fellow countryman Jose Mourinho if he had made a switch back to Manchester United.
However, Spanish publication Don Balon claimed that the defending Premier League champions have surprisingly emerged as the Portuguese forwards favoured destination.
Ronaldo is believed to be keen on the idea of making a return to the Premier League, while the Blues would also be keen on to bring the reigning world player of the year to Stamford Bridge due to Eden Hazard’s uncertain future.
The report also claims that the Red Devils have cooled their interest in their ex-player, who has found the net only four La Liga goals so far this campaign.
