According to the Gazzetta dello Sport reports Premier League giants Chelsea have been desperately chasing Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly this summer,however ended with remaining at Sao Paolo Stadium and now it is believed that Italian side are ready to offer bumper deal for Senegalese international defender.
The 25-year-old defender is believed that the Senegal international also publicly stated his desire to leave but finally he ended up staying at the Serie A outfit.
Senegalese international defender is set to hand a new contract deal with Napoli, but the president De Laurentiis is keen to insert a release clause in his contract after Gonzalo Higuain’s big money move to Juventus.
As per the reports from Italian Gazzetta dello Sport, Koulibaly will sign a new bumper deal until 2021 worth €2.2m a season, but with a release clause of €70m. In fact, the Serie A giants are willing to increase Koulibaly’s release clause to avoid interest from Chelsea.
Meanwhile,PSG new manager Unai Emery has revealed that he was desperate to hold onto Brazilian defender David Luiz, who has joined Chelsea on £34m deal, however, he has failed to convince him to remain at Stamford Bridge.
Luiz moved back to Chelsea on transfer deadline day two years after leaving Stamford Bridge for French champions and Emery revealed he came to him after the Blues had made him an offer.
