Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly desperate to bring the Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar to Old Trafford and will press ahead with a swoop at the end of the season.
The Red Devils were strongly connected with Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale during the summer transfer market, but the Welshman now looks sure to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu for the long term.
Neymar’s future at Parc des Princes is less secure, however, with the Brazil international winger believed to be open to leaving the club, he joined from La Liga giants Barcelona in the summer of 2017.
The winger, who is the most expensive player in world football, has netted 32 times in 36 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain since his arrival from Camp Nou.
Real Madrid have long been registered with an interest, but according to the Spanish weekly sports magazine Don Balon, Manchester United have made Neymar their number one target in 2019, with head coach Jose Mourinho desperate to secure his services.
Neymar netted 28 goals in 30 appearances for the Parisians last season before a broken foot ended his season, but he recovered to represent his country at the 2018 World Cup.
