Middlesbrough starlet Nathan Wood has emerged as a possible transfer target for Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley, according to a recent report from The Sun.
The report states that Sean Dyche’s side missed out on landing the youngster last campaign, but they have evidently been impressed with what they have seen from Nathan since.
Burnley are preparing an offer in the region of £9 million for Wood, and it will be interesting to see whether Middlesbrough are to accept that multi-million-pound offer from the Premier League outfit.
Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be keen on signing him, although they are yet to register a formal offer to sign his signature.
Wood has not made a single appearance for Boro in their league campaign this season but did feature for his side in the defeat to Crewe Alexandra in the EFL Cup match earlier this season.
The 17-year-old centre-back will be keen to have his long-term future decided at the earliest of opportunities, and if he is not getting the game time he wants in the Boro senior-team, then a transfer could be on the cards.
Middlesbrough are next in action when the club take on Reading, who will provide Jonathan Woodgate’s men with a real test on the day, as the club look promising under Jose Gomes’ guidance.
Wood has not made an impact with Boro’s first-team yet, but he must be a bright player for the future if the Clarets are preparing a £9 million bid for the youngster and Premier League giants queuing up to get him.
