Manchester United are interested in a summer transfer for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Diogo Jota, according to reports.
Diogo Jota took his tally to 14 for the campaign– four better than the last term – with a brace in the comfortable 3-0 victory versus Norwich on Sunday.
That followed a brilliant hat-trick in the win over Espanyol in the Europa League on Thursday – a match at which Manchester United had scouts watching Diogo Jota’s display closely, according to the Express.
It is claimed that Manchester United have been hugely impressed by the 23-year-old forward and preparing a £50m offer for when the window re-opens.
The report states: “United are desperate for someone to take the goal-scoring burden off Marcus Rashford having failed in the last two transfer windows to land a top-class striker.”
Nuno Espirito Santo was asked about his player’s stunning scoring streak afterwards and said: “It’s like this, it’s nothing specific. He was clinical Thursday and today, so hopefully, it continues!
“He’s always confident. I think everybody is. We know that players’ performances go up and down, it’s about finding the right decisions to sustain his performance. Not only him, all the team – but of course, I am delighted with his goals.”
Raul Jimenez, who made it 21 for the campaign on Sunday, has also been massively linked with a move to Old Trafford recently.
