Arsenal and Manchester United will watch Juventus star Merih Demiral in action for Turkey tomorrow when they take on Iceland.
The Turkish defender is expected to leave the Serie A club in January after being frozen out in Turin by Maurizio Sarri.
The 21-year-old has made just one match for the Old Lady this time and Juventus are keen to offload Demiral to recoup the £14m they paid Sassuolo for him in last summer.
According to Bleacher Report, United and Arsenal have both sent scouts to Turkey for tomorrow’s match against Iceland to watch Demiral in action.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made Harry Maguire the most expensive defender in the world last summer when United agreed an £80m deal with Leicester City for the centre-back.
But, while Maguire has improved United’s defence, Victor Lindelof’s form has dipped, and United are looking for a long-term partner for Maguire.
Merih Demiral’s primary position is a centre-back, but Arsenal have had problems of their own in defence.
David Luiz’s arrival from Chelsea has failed to cure the Gunners’ problems, and Arsenal have conceded 17 goals already this time, giving them a goal difference of -1.
