Bundesliga defending champions Bayern Munich Chief Carlo Ancelotti has laughed off rumors suggesting that Arturo Vidal could join Chelsea this month, declaring them as an “absolute rubbish”.
The Copa America winner has recently been suggested to be keen on to reunited with his former manager Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge Stadium.
Chelsea have earned £60million with the sale of Oscar to China, and Antonio Conte had identified the Chilean midfielder as an ideal replacement for Brazilian.
Mentions of a £40million price tag for the 29-year-old have been met with bemusement among members of the German champions hierarchy, with Bayern having insisted he’s staying put.
Now, speaking at the club’s base in Qatar – where Bayern are doing some warm weather training during the winter break – Ancelotti has dismissed a potential departure.
Asked about Vidal’s future and the reports, the Italian said: “Absolute rubbish. Absolute nonsense.”
