Manchester United have reportedly decided to change their stance regarding over the future of Italian defender Matteo Darmian.

The former Torino defender is nearing the end of his fourth season at Old Trafford. However, the 29-year-old is known to be keen on to making a return in Serie A.

The versatile full-back has made only six appearences for the Red Devils this season, and it has been reported that a transfer will take place when the window will be re-opened in the summer.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Red Devils are ready to offer Italian defender a new four-year deal as Ole Gunnar Solskjear considers him in his transfer plans.

The report claimed that the development is partly due to the Red Devils being keen to avoid losing the player for free, with his existing deal expiring in 2020.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already expected to lose several full-backs in the summer with both Antonio Valencia and Young have been rumoured with an exit from Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have reportedly identified West Ham United defensive midfielder Declan Rice as a priority during the summer transfer window.

Newly-appointed head-coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be provided with a significant transfer budget for the next campaign and the North-West giants are believed to be keen on to strengthen their offensive end.

According to Independent Ireland, the Red Devils are prepared to pay big money to secure the services of the West Ham United prospect who has been one of the most talented player in England.
