Manchester United are reportedly moving towards making an offer bid for Sporting Lisbon ace Bruno Fernandes, with his entourage said to be in England.
The 24-year-old star is coming off the back of a stellar season in which he bagged 32 goals and 18 assists in 53 matches for the Portuguese giants.
Coupled with making an impression at the international level, Bruno has come a long way since his early stint in Serie A as he looks to be on the brink of a major move.
As noted by the Independent, the Red Devils have previously been connected with making a £50 million bid for the midfield ace, although Sporting Lisbon have continued to value him closer to £70 million.
Speculation of a move to Premier League has been rife for weeks, but according to a The Mirror, as initially cited by Sport Witness, it appears as though the current situation could be set to develop imminently.
It’s stated that reports in Portugal have claimed that not only is Bruno Fernandes’ representative, Miguel Pinho, in England to try and seal a deal but that a formal offer is expected in the ‘coming hours’.
Importantly, Tottenham Hotspur are also specifically mentioned in the report, and so manager Mauricio Pochettino could yet see his side make a rival bid for the creative star.
Nevertheless, with the Red Devils failing to secure a Top 4 finish in the Premier League last campaign as well as being left empty-handed, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be desperate to see the club reinforce his roster ahead of the new season.
