Barcelona are reportedly ready to cash in on French defender Samuel Umtiti during the summer transfer window if Manchester United or Mfanchester City make an official bid for his signature.
The 25-year-old Frenchman has struggled with a knee injury since helping Didier Deschamps side to win the World Cup tournament in the summer.
Umtiti has played twice since the end of November, however, he got 90 minutes under his belt in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano, suggesting that he has fully recovered from injury and fitness isn’t an issue.
Calciomercato claims that the Catalan club are happy to offload the ex-Lyon centre-back, however, and that could be good news for both Manchester clubs, having both been rumoured in securing his services in the past.
Barca are believed to be after Ajax youngster in-demand defender Matthijs de Ligt and will free up funds by selling Umtiti to one of Manchester teams.
Barcelona have signed former Lyon defender in a £20m deal two-and-a-half years ago and since then he has been a key player for the Catalans defensive end, however, De Ligt seems to be one of the best young prospects in the market and after Frenkie De Jong they are planning ot sign another Ajax star.
