Serie A champions Juventus have reportedly emerged as frontrunners to secure services of in-demand Lyon box-to-box midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The 22-year-old’s future at Ligue 1 giants remains up in the ari following his performances in the French top-tier and the Champions League this campaign have attracted the attention of some Europe’s biggest teams, with particular interest from the English top-tier.
Tottenham, Manchester United and Manchester City are all believed to be keeping tabs on Ndombele’s progress with a view to making an official approach for his signature when the transfer window re-opens in January.
However, Calciomercato claims that Italian giants Juventus are currently leading the race for his signature, with sporting director Fabio Paratici believed to be in touch with the agent of 22-year-old playmaker.
Lyon are expected to demand around €75m (£63.9m) and €80m (£68.1m) before they consider selling one of their star player – a price tag which is currently a sticking point for all the top teams from the Premier League sides and Juventus.
The midfielder’s destination could also be influenced by how each team fares in the Champions League this campaign, with all of his potential suitors having reached the quarter-finals of Europe’s most elite competition.
Ndombele is believed to demand a five-year deal with significantly improved terms wherever he goes, however, Serie A giants are currently thought to be in the driving seat.
Benfica attacking midfielder Joao Felix has addressed rumours that he could make summer move to Premier League giants Manchester United claiming that he is happy at the Portuguese club and has no idea of leaving the team after the end of the current campaign.
Portuguese sensation has played an integral role in head-coach Bruno Lage’s attacking midfielder line this campaign, scoring 12 goals and assisting six times in all competitions.
Despite having a reported €120m release clause in his current deal with Benfica, the Red Devils appear to be maintaining a strong interest in the starlet, however,Felix has played down a move to the 20-time English champions.
“My dream has always been to play for the big teams and in the big competitions,” Felix told reporters.
“But I’m here and I’m very happy with Benfica, which, like those teams, is also a big one in Europe.”
When asked if his release clause is a ‘crazy’ figure, the 19-year-old ace replied:
“Maybe, yes. But I do not understand the market or values, these are issues of representatives and presidents. I just play.”
Felix also played for the academies of Paradoense and Porto and before making a switch to Benfica back in 2016.
Meanwhile, another Portugues star Joao Cancelo has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford with the Red Devils see him as an ideal replacement for Antonio Valencia whose long-term career at the 20-times English champions came to the end as he plans to leave the team for free this summer.
