Manchester United could revive their interest in £38.5million-rated Hirving Lozano in the summer, according to the latest reports.

The Red Devils were said to be chasing the Mexican last year but missed out when Partenopei smashed their record transfer fee to sign the tricky attacker.

Lozano’s maiden season in Italy has been less than satisfactory, however, with the talented forward struggling for minutes prior to football’s coronavirus-enforced suspension.

And according to Corriere dello Sport, Red Devils chiefs are attracted by not just Hirving’s footballing abilities – but also his potential marketing value.

His fellow countryman Javier Hernandez became a cult hero at the club after signing under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2010.

Chicharito netted 59 goals for the club before being surprisingly ditched by Dutch tactician Louis van Gaal, eventually leaving the Old Trafford outfit for good five years ago.

He was an extremely popular figure with both the Stretford End and his millions of passionate fans back in his home country.

This commercial value did not go unnoticed by United bigwigs, who feel that Hiriving could perhaps have a similar effect both at home and abroad.

He enjoyed a remarkable two-year spell at PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, netting 40 goals and assisting a further 23 in 79 games on either flank.

And amid this stunning side form, he also became an international hero, scoring the winner as his country stunned reigning champions Germany in their 2018 FIFA World Cup opener.

His last Serie A start for the Naples-based heavyweights was on December 7, Carlo Ancelotti’s final league match in charge.
