Man Utd head-coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is unsure about the availability of attacking duo Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard ahead of Sunday clash with their arch-rivals Liverpool on February 24th.
The Red Devils have suffered a damaging 2-0 loss to PSG on Tuesday night, in their 1/16 Champions League tie at Old Trafford.
Nowegian head-coach has been outplayed by Tomas Tuchel’s side and it wasn’t helped by injuries to Martial and Lingard as the duo are likely to miss the important clash against Liverpool.
Speaking to BT Sport after the devastating defeat to PSG, Solskjaer admitted he couldn’t yet to name the return dates for attacking pair:
“You can’t give that [the injuries] as a reason [why we lost] because we have players like Mata and Sanchez to come on and they’re quality players.
“But, of course, Jesse and Anthony, they give us something. Let’s hope they’re not too serious.
“They’re muscle injuries, so we’ll just have to wait a couple of days.”
Both Manchester United and Liverpool play again before they meet at Old Trafford a week on Sunday after the Merseyside Reds take Bayern Munich in the Champions League and Solkjaers side take on Chelsea in the FA Cup clash – however, there is already so much focus on the game.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are missing Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez ahead of their trip to Old Trafford on 24th February.
Liverpool are on top of the Premier League table while Manchester United sit fourth and fighting for the Champions League zone.
