Manchester United could make a fresh swoop to sign Croatian star Ante Rebic from Eintracht Frankfurt in January window, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Following his exploits with his country at the World Cup in the summer, Rebic was connected with a switch to Old Trafford ahead of the 2018/19 season.
However, no transfer came to fruition, and Ante decided to commit his future to Eintracht Frankfurt as he put pen to paper on a new contract, which is due to run until the summer of 2022.
Despite this, though, it looks like Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is unwilling to give up the ghost as he reportedly continues to chase the hard-working attacker’s signature.
Jose is understood to be a known admirer of Ante’s qualities, but according to the Daily Mail’s report, the Red Devils may struggle to push a deal for the star over the line.
It’s stated that although Mourinho would love to add Croatia international to his pool of attacking options, the top brass at Old Trafford may be unwilling to spend sizable transfer sums in the mid-season window.
This has cast doubt over Manchester United’s chances of landing Rebic, who has netted three goals from four Bundesliga appearances this campaign.
