Manchester United are set to battle with European champions Real Madrid for the signature of Brazilian superstar Neymar according to the reports.
The South American forward is currently playing for Ligue 1 giants Paris-Saint Germain following his world-record transfer from Barcelona back in 2017.
The 27-year-old has found back of the net 48 times in 53 appearences for PSG, and also won the Ligue 1 title last season.
According to the Daily Record, the Red Devils are planning their summer signings with Brazilian superstar touted as their No.1 transfer target.
Solskjaer’s side are reportedly willing to smash the world record transfer fee £230 million to lure Brazilian forward away from the Parc de Princes.
The Red Devils have also been told that Brazilian superstar would not rule out the possibility of a move to Old Trafford as he is becoming frustrated with his life at PSG.
Both Real Madrid and Manchester United are believed to be willing to meet Neymar’s existing salary as well. It will remain to be seen if the Red Devils will decide to make an approach this summer, however, it is likely they will want to revamp their team under their newly-appointed full-time head-coach, whoever that may be.
United’s next Premier League fixture is against their arch-rivals, Liverpool, however, before that, they will face PSG in the Champions League 1/16 tie and the Parisians are without they key attacking duo Neymar and Edinson Cavani.
