Manchester United have reportedly made £52.8m bid for Serie A outfits Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic.
The Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho is believed to have personally scouted 20-year-old defender Milenkovic during Serbia’s UEFA Nations League game against their neighbors Montenegro on Thursday.
According to La Nazione, Man Utd manager was impressed with what he saw from the eight-time international, and the Red Devils have now made an offer of £52.8m for his signature during the January transfer window.
Milenkovic has joined Fiorentina from Partizan back in May 2017, and has impressed since his arrival in Italy top-tier.
The Red Devils were frustrated in their pursuit of a number of world-class defender during the summer transfer window, with Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire two players heavily linked with switches to Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, another Serbian midfielder Serbian Milinkovic Savic has been also rumoured with a move to Man Utd kept close tabs during their game against Montenegro.
Premier League giants will look to make it back-to-back wins in the English top-tier when they travel to Chelsea next weekend.
