Red Devils reportedly changed the terms of Marcos Rojo’s exit for the Toffees which in turn led to the move falling through on deadline day. Man United splashed out £80m on Harry Maguire this transfer window, signing a potentially crucial defensive reinforcement to shore up a leaky backline.

Given Norwegian manager saw his side concede 54 goals in 38 Premier League matches last campaign, Ole needed to address what was a glaring weakness, and he’ll now hope that Harry is that solution.

However, with a contest for places already fierce in Man United with Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling all vying for a starting line-up next to England international, Marcos seemingly fell further down the pecking order as a result of that move and now wants to change the working place.

Rojo was ready for a loan switch at Goodison Park on deadline day, but the Red Devils changed the terms of the deal and that in turn led to the move collapsing, which is said to have left the 29-year-old centre-back fuming as he’ll now be stuck in Man United.

Nevertheless, Marcos does still have hope of an exit outside of the Premier League as Rojo will face an anxious wait to see if any European clubs are interested in him as the main European leagues will see the transfer window stay open until September 2.

With that in mind, he’ll still hope to move on this transfer window, but it will perhaps be a blow that he couldn’t seal a move to stay in the Premier League.
