Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini has emerged as a shock transfer target for Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United.
During the summer, Pellegrini has made a return to Stadio Olimpico after a successful two-year loan spell with Sassuolo, where he has managed to found the net for nine times in 47 Serie A appearances.
Italian midfielder has since gone on to establish himself as one of the key players for Eusebio Di Francesco’s starting lineup, with six starts being made in Italian top tier this campaign, however, it appears that the Italian international’s fine form has been expressing from hosts of European clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea.
According to Tutto Mercato, both Premier League teams are interested in luring the Italian playmaker to England, with an approach made more likely due to Pellegrini’s release clause.
As it stands, Serie A teams can secure the signing of Italian playmaker for €25m (£22.1m) when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.
Alongside Pellegrini, Chelsea and Manchester United both are keeping tabs on another Italian sensation Pietro Pellegri.
