Arsenal are reportedly keen on Diogo Jota and are prepared to go head to head with Manchester United to land the Wolves forward this summer.
TransferMarketWeb had claimed of Manchester United’s interest in Diogo Jota, who is also a summer target for Napoli as per the publication.
Now, Daily Mail have added the Gunners’ name to the list of suitors for the Wolves hitman in the summer, with manager Mikel Arteta looking to add the player to his attacking arsenal.
Arsenal’s need for a forward is not that urgent. But, with the Gunners ready to let Alexandre Lacazette leave and the cloud hovering over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the club beyond the term, the Spaniard needs to add a forward come summer. Diogo though, is unlike Aubameyang, but perhaps what Mikel needs.
The 23-year-old star is an industrious forward with an appetite for covering distances during a game. This is likely one of the primary reasons the Red Devils are interested in Jota.
The Norwegian tactician likes pressing from the very top and has shown to prefer hard-working players.
Thus, Ole could be looking towards Jota as a competition or deputy for Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, especially if the club end up signing Odion Ighalo permanently.
In what is likely to be an absolute boost for all potential buyers, TransferMarketWeb report that the teams could land Diogo for a fee around the €28 million mark.
That fee for a 23-year-old senior international, PL proven star is an absolute steal by the looks of things.
