Ligue 1 giants Monaco have slapped a £38million price tag on Man United long-term target Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder is on the Red Devils radar after having three impressive seasons with Monaco.
Bakayoko who has been identified as a long-term successor of Michael Carrick has been regularly playing for Ligue 1 giants as he has already made 22 appearances for the club and the Red Devils scouts will keep a close eyeing on the midfielder who will arrive at Manchester to face Citizens in the FA Cup competition.
The Parisian, however, remains under contract until 2019 and Monaco will not allow him to leave on the cheap this summer.
According to the L’Equipe reports, the Principality club are set to charge as much as £38m for any club that will make an approach for his signature.
However, that price tag is unlikely to deter the Old Trafford club should they decide he is the man for him.
That fee would still represent less than half of what they paid for Paul Pogba in the summer and, the 22-year-old Bakayoko’s best years are still to come and it could be at Old Trafford.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich are ready to go head to head in the race for Benfica star Nelson Semedo during the summer transfer window.
According to the reports from Portugal, both European giants have stepped up their interest in the 23-year-old defender and sent scouts to watch him in action this week.
Bundesliga defending champions are reportedly keen on to sign the 23-year-old as the long-term replacement for club captain Philip Lahm, who has announced retirement from football at the end of the current campaign.
The Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is also on the lookout for a new right-back, and it has been suggested that Semedo could be an answer
The Lisbon native has emerged as one of the best defenders in Portugal and hosts of European clubs ready to fight for his signature.
However, they know that interest from two European heavyweights will only drive his price up when the window opens and both Bavarians and the Red Devils will have to break the bank for his signature.
Man United manager Jose Mourinho should sign Switzerland international defender Ricardo Rodriguez to solve the Red Devils left-back problem, according to Paul Parker.
Former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager has struggled to find the ideal left-sided defender among his current squad already tried to use Blind, Valencia, Darmian and hosts of players at that position.
There has been expectations that Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho would make a move for a new left-back in the summer transfer window and former Reds ace Parker believes that Bundesliga ace Rodriguez would be an excellent addition to Mourinho’s squad.
‘I like Rodriguez at Wolfsburg who is one of the best left-backs in Europe,’ Parker said, speaking exclusively to 888sport.
‘Unfortunately, I don’t think he’s a Mourinho player.
‘He reminds me of Filipe Luis who Mourinho signed for Chelsea from Atletico Madrid but never played him.’
The Red Devils manager Mourinho has insisted that England international defender Luke Shaw will not leave the club in the summer, but Portuguese manager could bolster defensive options.
