Man United in danger to miss out signing of £50m-rated defender

Juventus full-back Alex Sandro has received a lucrative contract offer from a club in the Premier League.

The Brazil international has been at the Serie A champions since 2015, but the South American has been frequently linked with a transfer to an English club.

Manchester United along with rivals Chelsea are long-term admirers of the left-back, and as Italian publication Calciomercato claims a deal has been put forward by an unnamed team.

The report says that it will take a lucrative offer for the 27-year-old to consider leaving Turin giants, but it appears that the player has got his wish.

Alex Sandro – who has just over 18 months left on his existing terms in at Juventus – has scored nine goals from 131 appearances in all competitions since leaving Porto and it remains to be seen which club is eager to sign the in-demand defender who failed to agree on contract terms with Juventus several times.

The addition of the Brazilian would be a huge boost for the Red Devils as Jose Mourinho’s side, which is built on defensive performances, is struggling not to concede a goal.
