Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic is not training with his team-mates due to a deal he has with the club, states head coach Maurizio Sarri.

Speaking ahead of Juventus’ Serie A game against Bologna on Saturday, the Italian manager said: “In this moment Mario Mandzukic is not training with the group due to an agreement he has with the club.”

Croatian forward, who is a target for Man United in the winter transfer window, attends Juventus’ training centre but runs apart from the first-team line-up.

Sky in Italy say 33-year-old who is yet to make an appearance for the Juve this campaign, will be available for transfer in winter.

United made a late move for the Mandzujuc at the end of the summer transfer window, after a transfer for his team-mate Paulo Dybala failed, but ended their chase on Deadline Day.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the United boss, has this week announced with Sky Sports – and former team-mate – Gary Neville who is “sure” the club will bring in a new signing in winter “at the right price”.

And speaking last month, Norwegian manager made clear bringing in a forward was a priority after Man United’s failure to replace Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
