Manchester United will turn to Norwich’s Max Aarons if they fail in their attempt to sign Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.
The Eagles have turned down Manchester United’s opening £40 million offer for the right-back, but the Red Devils are already planning their next offers which are understood to be in the region of £50 million.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has his heart set on signing the Eagles’ star and is encouraging Ed Woodward to move closer to the £60 m valuation for the Englishman.
Manchester United have a back-up plan if Crystal Palace block the exit and have identified Norwich starlet Aarons, who made 41 league appearances across the season as their second choice target.
The report adds that Tottenham and RB Leipzig are also willing to sign Max Aarons after the 19-year-old’s exceptional debut season in which he was at the heart of a Norwich side which topped the Championship to earn promotion to the Premier League.
It’s believed Crystal Palace would also consider a move for Max Aarons if Aaron Wan-Bissaka seals a switch to Old Trafford.
Paris Saint-Germain full-back Thomas Meunier is also on Manchester United’s radar as a possible replacement for Antonio Valencia, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set that Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the player he wants on the right side of his defence.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to be convinced by Diogo Dalot, hence the Red Devils’ interest in the English defensive duo.
