Manchester City are looking to beat Arsenal in their pursuit of AS Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas as they look Vincent Kompany’s replacement.
The Greek defender has a contract with Italian giants until 2022, however, is expected of making a move on this summer, even telling reporters after the final game of the Serie A campaign: ‘I don’t know if I’ll stay here.’
The 27-year-old centre-back has a relatively affordable release clause, by modern standards £32m and it has attracted interest from hosts of European clubs.
Italian publication Corriere dello Sport claimed that the Citizens are the latest team to show an interest in Greek defender, joining the likes of Juventus and Arsenal in the race.
