Liverpool have made an €80million bid for Lille forward Nicolas Pepe, with the Merseyside Reds offering the winger a five-year deal.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Nicolo Schira, who reports that Jurgen Klopp is eager to finalise the deal for Lille forward and has submitted an offer to French club.
The 22-year-old forward emerged as one of the best players in France top division last season, founding back of the net 23 times and creating 12 assists in 41 games for the French club.
The Ivory Coast International forward has attracted interest from the likes of Man Utd, Bayern Munich, PSG as well as Liverpool, and it appears that Jurgen Klopp’s side have made the first move.
Pepe was an unused substitute for the Ivory Coast in their final friendly game prior to the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly expressing an interest in Ajax star Donny van de Beek, according to Dutch news outlet Voetbal Primeur, cited by Anfield HQ.
The Anfield outfit have reportedly rejoined the hunt to sign defender Matthijs de Ligt, with manager Jurgen Klopp making de Joden man a priority signing, and the Reds are now thought to be monitoring his teammate.
Van de Beek has been one of de Joden’s standout performers in their impressive season under Erik ten Hag, with the 22-year-old midfielder registering 16 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.
