The agent of Trabzonspor stopper Ugurcan Cakir has revealed that Liverpool have been in touch over a possible switch for his client when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.
The 23-year-old Cakir has played 23 games for his Turkish giants during the 2018-19 season.
According to Erdi Kirkpinar, who represents the stopper, Schalke 04 and Lille are also interested ot secure his services in the summer move, however, Champions League finalists Liverpool also planning move for his signature for the former Turkey Under-21 international.
“Every team have scouts and some of them are following Ugurcan’s matches. Schalke haven’t made an official offer for him,” Kirkpinar told Ajansspor.
“I know Lille and Schalke are following him. Liverpool are also interested in him. Liverpool officials have talked with us, we had some contacts, but no official offer has come from them.”
Liverpool are expected to secure the services of a new goalkeeper as back-up option to Alisson Becker this summer with current number two Simon Mignolet is likely to leave the club ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have reportedly beaten direct Premier League rivals Liverpool to the signature of Tromso IL forward Isak Hansen-Aaroen.
In 2018, Tromso sporting director Svein-Morten Johansen has revealed that “very positive discussions” had been held with the Red Devils over a potential deal for a highly-rated attacker who was then 14.
Now he has been 15 and it is believed that he has already had trials with Liverpool, Everton and Manchester United ahead of a potential move to the Premier League.
The Merseyside Reds have since been rumoured with the move for Norwegian, however, according to iTromso, the Red Devils have won the race for Hansen-Aaroen, who will make the move to Manchester United when he becomes 16 back in August 2020.
