Earlier this week Liverpool had sent scouts to watch Hoffenheim highly-rated defender Fabian Schar ahead of a potential transfer to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have reportedly sent scouts to keep a close eye for the 24-year-old centre-back while he was with Switzerland during the international break.
It is stated that Schar is valued around £9million. However, Bundesliga outfits Hoffenheim are unwilling to let defender leave during the January transfer window.
It is believed that Italian giants Inter Milan are also in the market for a quality defender and keeping tabs on Schar’s situation, but it is also believed that boss Jurgen Klopp’s good relationship with German club could help him to lure Swiss star at Anfield.
The German boss also has a good knowledge of the Bundesliga and will know the qualities that he could bring to his side.
Schar has three years remaining on his current deal with the Hoffenheim, but he could follow footsteps of Roberto Firmino and Join Liverpool during the January transfer window.
Liverpool are currently the fourth of the Premier league table with only two points behind from League leaders Manchester City.
