Liverpool record signing Alisson has revealed that he spoke with former Reds midifelder Philippe Coutinho about the club and life in Merseyside.
The Brazilian keeper has already recorded four clean sheets in the English top-tier since leaving Italian giants AS Roma, with the Reds sitting top of the table with six straight victories – and they’ve only conceded two goals.
Although the Reds moved for Brazilian keeper after the World Cup, he had already spoken to his international teamamte, Coutinho before the tournament about life in the Merseyside.
‘He spoke highly of Jurgen [Klopp] and about the players,’ said Alisson of Coutinho, who swapped Anfield for Barcelona in January. ‘He said there is no vanity in the squad but it’s a very ambitious squad with a strong desire to win.
‘Coutinho also said he was very happy here with his family, which is really important.
‘Our wives spoke to each other too and they said they had a great time living here, and we are very happy.’
Former Roma keeper also revealed that the atmosphere he experienced at Anfield during the Champions League semifinal last season.
‘The atmosphere I experienced here contributed to my decision to sign,’ he continued.
‘There was also the way the Liverpool team played. It’s not dependent upon one player, it’s a real group effort. It’s a team that plays with love and passion.’
