Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has declared his commitment to the Reds and indicated that he isn’t particularly interested in a transfer away from Anfield.
The Senegalese won the Premier League golden boot last campaign for his goalscoring exploits and he was vital to the manager Jurgen Klopp’s side winning the UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid chief Zinedine Zidane is a known admirer of the former Southampton player and he showed an interest in the star in the summer but Mane has said he is content to stay with the Reds.
Speaking to Complex, the 27-year-old star said: “To be honest, I’m really happy to be a part of the club, the family here. We have the best fans in the world here, so I’m always so thankful for the support.”
“It’s not just great for me too – it gives the whole squad more motivation to perform. It keeps us hungry to get better and better together – I really struggle to describe how happy I am to be here!”
Mane netted his second league goal of the campaign in Liverpool’s last PL fixture against Burnley and the former Red Ball Salzburg ace is likely to feature heavily again on Saturday as Liverpool host Newcastle United.
In other news, according to reports in the Spanish press, Real Madrid owner Florentino Perez is already considering the club’s variants with regards to their activity in the transfer window next summer.
There is a suggestion that Florentino would be willing to spend £187 million on the Liverpool star as well as matching his current wage at Anfield.
