Liverpool planning summer move for 20-year-old Italian playmaker

Inter Milan have reportedly won the transfer race to sign Brescia midfielder and long-term Liverpool target Sandro Tonali.

The 20-year-old Tonali has been touted as one of the brightest prospects in Italian football, with comparisons made to Italy legend Andrea Pirlo even when he was playing in Serie B last year.

Sandro has continued to impress in the top flight this season, attracting attention from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

The Old lady are understood to have made an offer for the holding midfielder, but a French source Le 10 Sport claims that Inter Milan have now won the hunt for his signature.

Previous reports have claimed that Brescia are holding out for an offer of €50m (£44.8m) for Jurgen Klopp’s midfield target.

The Italy international has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and picking up five assists.

Meantime, Liverpool are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo.

The 20-year-old has netted six times and contributed two assists in 24 games at club level this season, although Zaniolo has been on the sidelines since January with a serious knee injury.

Both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are allegedly interested in the all-around attacker, who has been capped on five occasions by his country’s national team.

However, according to Corriere dello Sport, the REds are also in the hunt for Zaniolo amid suggestions that Giallorossi will be forced into selling some of their best players in the summer.
