Barcelona have offered France international star Ousmane Dembele to Liverpool in the summer, however, they want to recoup the hefty transfer fee that they have paid for the former Dortmund forward.
Dembele joined the Catalan club from Bundesliga giants back in 2017 for around £93m up front, and £36m with add-ons.
The 22-year-old forward has not quite lived up his transfer fee and fans at the Catalan club are disappointed with the big money signing.
The Spanish giants are now willing to move him on and have offered him to the Merseyside Reds, according to the reports from Britain, which suggests that Ernesto Valverde’s side would except the initial fee they have paid around £93m
While the Merseyside Reds are not targeting a replacement for any of their front three, they keen on to strengthen their offensive end and increase the competition.
However, it may be hard to convince the Frenchman to make the switch at Anfield without the guarantee of regular first-team football, as Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah all remain the first choice at Anfield.
The Merseyside Reds may well pass up on the offer and the Catalan club could tout Frenchman’s services elsewhere, however, Anfield is believed to be one of his preferred destinations.
Lille forward Pepe is also thought to be an attacking target for Jurgen Klopp’s side and he has been valued at £70m.
Dembele has played 42 games for Spanish champions in all competitions, founding back of the net 14 times, taking his total to 18 in 65 appearences since arriving.
