Liverpool have made an approach for Schalke O4 playmaker Leon Goretzka, according to the reports from Britain.
The German international midfielder is out of his current deal with the Bundesliga club until the summer and has been linked with a switch to hosts of European club’s all summer long.
Mundo Deportivo reported that Goretzka’s representative Jorg Neubauer has also received an offer from Barcelona and Serie A defending champions Juventus.
The report also suggested that the German playmaker is intent on making a switch to La Liga giants Barcelona and is now deciding whether to push for a move in the winter transfer window.
According to the Mundo Deportivo, Goretzka has spoken with the Catalan giants shot-stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen over a Nou Camp move.
‘We have made every effort possible, we can not do more,’ Schalke’s sporting director Christian Heidel told Sky Sports Germany.
‘We are trying to convince him, also in the economic aspect, we are convinced that we have to look for him to continue without putting pressure on him.’
Goretzka has been one of the brightest talents in Germany and Liverpool should do their best in order to convince him to snub interest from Barcelona.
