Jadon Sancho’s future could end up being one of the biggest transfer stories of next summer.
The 19-year-old winger is expected to depart Borussia Dortmund at the end of the campaign, with a return to England looking likely.
Liverpool are rumoured to be seeing Sancho as a primary target – one who could go on to become a superstar at Anfield,
Man United have also been linked with joining the forward, while a return to former club Manchester City hasn’t been entirely ruled out.
Speaking to ESPN FC, the Merseyside Reds legend Steve Nicol has advised Sancho to opt for Anfield over Old Trafford, for the good of his own career:
“I think he’s crazy if he goes to Man Utd.”
“We’re talking about he’s struggling in a team that’s struggling (Dortmund) – Man Utd are going to be struggling for a couple of seasons, so I would stay away from there.”
“Well, if I was advising him, let me put it that way, I would like to see him at Liverpool.”
“I think he would be fantastic. If he could get his head round playing second fiddle to Mane and Salah, then that would be huge for Liverpool in my opinion.”
Sancho is a unique player, so it is no surprise to see him being linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Jurgen Klopp’s side appear confident that they can get their man, particularly with their current form so superior to United’s.
The only possible stumbling block could be if Sancho isn’t guaranteed a regular starter for the Reds initially, should Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah all stay put.
He would be an excellent signing if Liverpool could get an agreement done, but they will face still competition.
