Liverpool will reportedly keep a close eye on RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner who recently signed a fresh contract with the club.
Werner has scored 66 goals in 118 appearances for die Roten Bullen ever since joining them from the fellow German club Stuttgart back in 2016.
Last season, the 23-year-old star netted 19 goals and grabbed 10 assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.
He has proved himself as among the best strikers in Europe through his displays for RB Leipzig.
He recently penned a new contract with the Bundesliga outfit that extended his stay till the summer of 2023.
Nevertheless, the Reds will monitor him carefully according to a report from Football Insider.
Liverpool have a very deadly attack which has the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, not to forget the Reds also have Divock Orgi and Xherdan Shaqiri.
Hence, it will be very hard for Timo to find a place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven provided he signs for the Anfield outfit.
However, should any of the Premier League giants’ attackers leave next summer, he will certainly be a solid addition to the roster.
Considering how the 23-year-old star has been scoring, he’ll be a very good addition to any club in the world.
Timo’s already scored five goals in four appearances for RB Leipzig this season so far and there is no doubt he’ll score more as the campaign progresses.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have reportedly agreed on a new long-term deal with defender Virgil van Dijk, the Mirror reports.
He has made 78 matches for the Premier League club in all competitions.
