Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all reportedly keen to sign Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz. Spain international secured a move to the Serie A club last year and has gone on to play 40 matches for the Little Donkeys having firmly established himself as a key figure for manager Carlo Ancelotti.
With his technical quality and class in possession, Fabian is arguably an ideal fit for most top sides in Europe who play possession-based football, and so it’s no surprise to hear that he has attracted much interest. Napoli may well have a battle on their hands to keep Ruiz at the club, as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern and Liverpool are in battle.
Time will tell if any of those European clubs are capable of making an offer that convinces Italian giants to sell, while it could be particularly difficult if the 23-year-old midfielder himself isn’t keen on an exit having recently insisted that he was eager to sign a deal extension with the Little Donkeys.
Spanish midfielder joined the Serie A club from Real Betis in 2018 with a €30m deal. Last campaign Ruiz played 40 matches, scored seven goals and provided three assists in all tournaments. He has contracted with Napoli until 2023, and his release clause is around €50m.
Merseyside club manager Jurgen Klopp has a wealth of options in midfield, but as he looks to continue to bolster his squad and ensure that they continue to compete for significant honours moving forward, signing a player with Fabian’s quality as a long-term solution could be a sensible swoop.
